So....I used to have this blog a long time ago, and I kept it very, very private.  And it kind of became a "what's the point" situation.  If I didn't want folks to read it, why bother, right?

I'm still a private person, but I have decided to wipe all the old posts and start anew.  I figured I can talk about stuff I know, which isn't a whole lot.

So a little about me:

I'm 37 years old today.  Some days I feel old, and others I don't.  Birthdays don't usually bug me.  It is always nice to hear sweet sentiments from old and new friends on Facebook and such, and I am really in a pretty good place in life right now.  I play trumpet on Sunday mornings at church, and in community band in the summers.  I'm not really as good a musician as I used to be, but I enjoy worshiping God that way.  It's neat, and it is the one thing I have been given in abundance that I can give back to God and my church family.

I have an awesome son at home.  He's 15 years old, and a trumpet player.  He's actually a super-genius, but shhhhh.  We have our arguments, but once in awhile, he still tells me I was right, so he isn't the stereotypical teenager.  We also have our inside jokes.  I love our dynamic.  :)

I also have a lovely 13 year old daughter.  She lives with her father and stepmother in Illinois.  I don't get much chance to see her or talk to her.  I go through a lot of drama with the stepmother, but I won't get into that right now.  I certainly do not regret the choice I made to leave when I had the chance (no one should have to stay when they are cheated on), but I miss my daughter, and I wish I was better able to be in her life.  Someday she will know and understand what really went on all these years.

And then there is Heath.  I'm marrying him on October 25th of this year.  :)  He has been my go-to best friend for a very, very long time.  We met back in August of 1994 as freshmen Marching Mules at CMSU.  This year, we will be at UCM's Homecoming together for the first time since 1996....and it will be the day after our wedding.  I can't wait to officially start my life with this sweet man.

I work in Accounting for a Mystery Shopping provider in Warrensburg, MO.  I will be headed back to school (mostly online classes) in January of 2014, trying for an Accounting degree.  It started out with the thought that Accounting is what I have job experience in and is something that I enjoy, and that taking a few Accounting classes might further my career.  Now I am ready to jump in with both feet.  We will see how it goes.  :)

Ok....now you know me.
